Build confidence learning from home.
It’s by no means unusual for us to be self-conscious or a little shy when beginning to learn a musical instrument. Learning at home in your own environment without the need to sit in a waiting room with others prior to your lesson will go a long way to set you at ease from the outset and let you enjoy your learning experience. It is paramount to me that my learners not only reach a standard that they are proud of, but more so that they have loved the learning process to get there. The excitement and magic of discovering the guitar is a feeling quite like no other and it is one that I want my students to feel every week that they progress.
Learn wherever you are.
At university? Or maybe you are on a business trip or staying with relatives? From a hotel room or even from a break-out room during your lunch break at the office, as long as you have with you your guitar and a smart phone, tablet or laptop, take your guitar lessons with me wherever you are in the world!
Learn at times that suit you.
With no incurred travel time to take into consideration, your guitar lessons can fit far easier around your daily routine than if you were to commute to a music school or teacher’s house. In a world that is becoming increasingly more accustomed to on demand services my guitar lessons are no different and can be booked subject to availability to fit snuggly into those wonderful windows of opportunity in our busy day-to-day lives.
More affordable.
In the 20 years that I have been giving guitar lessons I have always kept my lesson prices as low as possible. With most music schools now charging close to £20 per half hour session, as a father of three children I for one know how hard this can make affording extra-curricular activities for the whole family, adults included. With far fewer overheads to consider, lesson prices can stay reasonable and fair for everyone.
Tailor the lessons better to your personal goals.
Moving my guitar lessons online and digitalising the whole learning experience has allowed me to be even more responsive to my students’ needs and personal goals. I pride myself on my versatility as a guitar teacher and adapting my lessons to suit the individual. Being able to respond with the right solutions when a certain style or topic may not be working for a student is key. Being online with a wealth of resources for all styles of playing and learning guitar at my immediate disposal enables me to switch the programme in an instant when needed, maintaining high confidence and motivation in my students all of the time.
Book a lesson on demand.
Is there a specific song that you just have to learn? Maybe it’s for someone special or for a special occasion? Or maybe you have a musical project of your own and need some help or advice? With my online lessons, you are welcome to book extra lessons away from our current programme of study for extra help in whatever is totally your call!
No need to travel.
Save time and help save the planet! A 30 minute guitar lesson, like a 30 minute work-out at the gym can very easily turn into a 2 hour round trip and monopolise your entire evening. With my online guitar lessons you will only need to allocate time to the actual lesson and of course, a little practice!
Increased engagement.
When the Coronavirus pandemic first hit the UK in March of 2020 I was very reluctant to move my lessons online as I was sceptical of their effectiveness and concerned about the quality of music lesson that could be offered online. I was however happy to make good of an undesirable situation, if nothing more give my younger learners something to look forward to in what were very bleak times for all. My scientism was soon turned to enthusiasm to do as much online teaching as possible as I noticed the progress of my students literally take flight like never before. The lesson engagement and motivation of my students escalated so much so that I soon realised that the lessons I was giving were amongst the best, if not the best, that I had given in 20 years of teaching. The response from my students, not just in their progress but in their motivation and enjoyment was so powerful that I soon realised that online guitar lessons were a lot more than a temporary solution while we waited for normality to return, but a giant leap in how one-to-one learning of an instrument should be done.
Round the clock support and advice.
I couldn’t bear the thought of any of my learners being disheartened by not fully understanding or having concerns over what they are practicing between lessons. My phone is always on and I am forever willing to answer any questions and offer help to those struggling in times when the next lesson feels like an eternity away. I see any confusion on the students’ part as a failing in my teaching and I make it my responsibility to rectify this whether that be in or outside of lesson time.
Online lessons are the future.
In my opinion anyway! Of the many things we have learnt from this brave new world we have all navigated in recent times one of the strongest is that providing online lessons are well delivered, they are remarkably effective and are here to stay. It is my personal belief that over the next few years we will see a real increase in anything that can be done effectively remotely and I have 100% confidence in the guitar lessons I deliver being one of these.
